She learns a skill. She builds an opportunity.

Graduates in blue shirts and gold sashes gather outdoors with their certificates.

Shemica Women Empowerment equips women and youth with practical digital, business and entrepreneurial skills that enable them to create opportunities, strengthen their livelihoods and participate meaningfully in the digital economy.

Our training is practical, accessible and designed around real-world needs. We connect learning with mentorship, networks and opportunities so that empowerment continues beyond the classroom.

Who We Are

A wide door into the digital economy

Shemica Women Empowerment exists because talent is everywhere and opportunity is not. Women and young people are shut out of the digital economy by three things: no access to training, no equipment, and nobody to show them what is possible.

We remove all three. We teach digital and entrepreneurial skills from the ground up, we teach every program in person so nobody is left working it out alone, and we stay with our graduates through mentorship until the skill turns into income.

We are not a single subject organisation. A woman who joins us can start with basic computer skills, move into design or digital marketing, learn how to price and run a business, and understand how to manage the money she makes. That whole path sits under one roof.

Our Mission

To equip women and youth with practical digital, entrepreneurial and financial skills, and with the mentorship needed to turn those skills into sustainable income and lasting opportunity.

Our Vision

A generation of African women and young people who are not spectators in the digital economy but builders, owners and leaders within it.

How It Works

From application to income, in four steps

  1. 1

    Apply

Fill in a short form online, or message us on WhatsApp and we will fill it in with you. No fees to apply.

  2. 2

    Join a cohort

We place you in the next available class for the program you chose and confirm your class times. Every program runs 6 weeks, with 2 sessions a week.

  3. 3

    Learn by doing

Live classes, real exercises and a project you can show, taught in person at our centre.

  4. 4

    Keep going

Mentorship, a graduate community, help with your first client, your CV or your business.

Who We Serve

This is who walks through our door

  • Women who have never touched a computer and are starting from zero
  • Young people who finished school with no path into work
  • Market traders and small business owners who want to sell online
  • Mothers who need to earn from home, around their children
  • Graduates with a certificate but no practical skill
  • Community groups, churches and cooperatives who want their members trained together

Why We Exist

The gaps we were built to close

  • Digital training that women can afford, reach and trust
  • Access to computers, smartphones and reliable internet for learning
  • Awareness of freelancing, remote work and online income
  • Financial knowledge, so money earned is money kept
  • Mentorship from people who have already walked the road
  • Confidence, which is the barrier nobody puts on a form

Our Trainers

12 professionals who teach what they practise

Our trainers are not lecturers reading from a manual. They are designers, developers, marketers and business owners who do this work every day and teach in the evenings and on weekends because they believe in what happens in that room.

From Our Founder

I started Shemica because I wanted to create a space where women and young people could come without fear, learn without shame and discover that they are capable of much more than they may have believed.
